Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT300/RYT500)  teaching over 1,200 yoga classes, helping many heal and strengthen their physical body.

40 years experience in Christian ministry.

With no warning or preparation, I entered the second half of my spiritual life about 20 years into my ministry career. Caught by surprise, it took many years and a small fortune to find reliable information and faithful practices to relate to God in this new season.

I am grateful that God brought those resources to me. And  it is my passion to share them with you, so you can avoid unnecessary heartache and struggle as you move into the second half of your spiritual life.

The Spirit Mind Body resources  created the framework for me to  connect with God again. It was a safe place for me to encounter God in a fresh way, seeing my relationship as more of a kinship than a transaction. I have come to understand myself in a holistic way, and reimagine how God views me—my true self, God’s beloved - through my spirit, mind, and body.

One of my favorite parts of the material was the incorporation of a number of breathing exercises and “slow flow yoga practices. They allowed me to establish a rhythm of connecting with my body and with God, and helped me to learn about the direct connection that my body has to my mind and spirit. I’ve been able to practice toward calmness in my mind/spirit by using my breath. And the community I’ve experienced practicing along with others in our slow flow yoga class has been an added gift.

Since working through SMBC, I have found myself back in a pattern of sharing life with God. I was so skeptical that this approach would be helpful, but I really have experienced so much healing in my spirit and mind from using the tools  offered here. By giving myself the time and space to engage with the spiritual exercises, I have begun to understand the grace of ‘God with us.’ As I leaned into the truth of God’s acceptance of me, my family has seen me soften,  and regain ability to engage in spiritual communities without anger or obligation. I have found myself able to pray again and to talk to God authentically, due to the rhythm of study I have developed through this course. After some time of shutting the world out, I feel like I’ve been able to re-engage with a heart to join God again in loving others.
